One of the key events of the geological industry took place in Lviv - the tenth anniversary conference «Subsoil use in Ukraine. Investment prospects». The event brought together representatives of government agencies, scientists, businesses and investors working on modern approaches to the development of subsoil use in Ukraine.

This year, the organizers received more than 400 applications for participation, and the program included 93 reports in nine thematic sections ranging from energy independence to sustainable resource management. This scale demonstrates the high interest in the topic of efficient, safe and environmentally friendly use of subsoil.

Amber Galbin Company« was the general partner of the conference. We systematically support the development of geological science, education and innovations that promote the responsible use of natural resources. For us, participation in such events is not only an image, but also a way to influence the future of the amber industry, which is part of our national heritage.

The head of the conference was Head of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine Oleg Gotsynets. In an exclusive commentary, he noted that new technologies, in particular the hydromechanized method of amber extraction, can only be effective if they are subject to transparent control:
“Indeed, Poland is attracting completely different technologies, I fully confirm this, but here we need to understand who holds the special permits, what investments they have, where they get their money, what working capital they have. That is, whether he has the capabilities during the war or whether he may have them later. That is, it depends on the model of the company that owns the subsoil plot.”

The need to update the regulatory documents in the field of subsoil use was expressed by Chairman of the State Commission of Ukraine for Mineral Resources Sergiy Payuk. He emphasized the need for a systematic approach to reforming the industry:
“To make changes to the regulations, given the significant number of these regulations for different industries, for amber, for hydrocarbons, for ore minerals, we are going step by step. We need a market demand, then we will be able to include and develop some proposals for submission to the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources and the Ministry for approval of these instructions.”

The section on resource management for sustainable development featured presentations by Viktor Melnychuk, Doctor of Geological Sciences, and Danylo Koval, a PhD student who works with Amber Galbin. Their scientific works are devoted to modern approaches to geological exploration and prospects for the development of amber mining.

Oleg Bogelsky, co-founder of Amber Galbin Group, summarized:
«Reasonable use of subsoil is the basis for energy independence and a stable future for Ukraine.»

For us, participation in the conference is not only a recognition, but also a responsibility. We realize that the Ukrainian amber industry has a huge potential. That is why we continue to support scientific research, professional dialog and the creation of modern solutions that will make subsoil use in Ukraine transparent and sustainable.
