«Amber Galbin» has joined the Ukrainian Amber Miners Association

The companies of the «Amber Galbin» Group have become participants Association of Amber Miners of Ukraine (AAMU), which brings together legal mining companies. Since their inception, our companies have been preparing geological projects, conducting environmental impact assessments, paying taxes, and complying with other legal requirements.

In 2019, the Verkhovna Rada launched a reform of the amber industry. Unfortunately, the changes were only partial.

«To date, the State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources has issued more than 140 special permits. We conducted an analysis: one-third of the companies are operating within the law. They are clearly carrying out their work programs and achieving concrete results. The rest, unfortunately, remain in the shadows. It is unknown how they are conducting their operations,» said Mykhailo Stoliarets, president of the Association of Ukrainian Mining Companies (AVBU).

Last week, in the Rivne region, the National Police conducted more than 50 investigative actions in cases involving the illegal extraction of amber. The association supported these actions.

«I would like to thank the National Police of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General for their clear stance and for drawing attention to this issue. We believe that the local police will continue to take an active role in combating illegal amber mining,» said Olesya Koren, a lawyer with the ABU.

The association brought together 11 subsoil users, ...who comply with the law. We invite honest amber miners to join the ABU. This will contribute to the development of the industry.
