To the collection of the «Amber Galbin» Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones in Khoroshev, Zhytomyr Oblast» passed on 279 pieces of amber of various sizes, three amber ingots, and one unique natural specimen, along with the host rock. Some of the items were included in the new exhibition, while the rest were added to the museum's collection for future research.
According to the museum's deputy director Volodymyr Kot, samples were selected for the exhibition that best showcase the diversity of Ukrainian amber: its colors, transparency, natural shapes, and formation characteristics. Special attention was given to specimens with natural inclusions, which are of great importance for paleontological research.
«Amber is not only a valuable mineral, but also a unique natural archive of the past. It preserves evidence of life that existed millions of years ago, allowing researchers to study ancient plants, animals, the climate, and the processes that shaped the Earth,» said Volodymyr Kot.
That is why, for «Amber Galbin,» amber is not only a material for creating products but also a valuable resource for scientific advancement. Supporting museums, scientific research, and promoting amber is one of the company’s areas of social responsibility.
The opening of the new exhibit was a continuation of the collaboration between «Amber Galbin» and the Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones.
