Rivne subsoil users created the Association of Amber Miners

This Association is a step towards the formation of transparent rules of operation and sustainable development of the amber industry, in which Ukrainian companies, in particular the companies of the group "Amber Galbin, The company strives to work according to modern European standards.

The organization was initiated by companies that have special permits for geological exploration and industrial amber mining.

The association is headed by Mykhailo Stoliarets, senior lecturer at the Department of Geology and Hydrology at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, head of the branch of the Department of Geology and Hydrology at NUWEE located near the field, co-author of 10 scientific and methodological works, and head of the mining company.

According to him, subsoil users have been discussing the idea of creating the Association for several years. They want to protect and defend their interests, influence the improvement of laws and promote the development of the industry.

Currently, the Association includes enterprises from Rivne region, and explanatory work with amber miners from Zhytomyr and Volyn regions is underway.

«Our goal is to influence the legal regulation, legislative changes related to mining, development of technologies and introduction of new methods of amber reserves calculation. This is important, because the current methods are outdated and based on the instructions of the 1970s and 1980s,» said Mykhailo Stoliarets.

One of the key areas of the Association's work is practical support for subsoil users. This includes support for geological exploration, environmental impact assessment procedures, obtaining the necessary permits, preparing projects for production and pilot development, as well as facilitating agreements with land owners and users.

In the short term, the founders plan to officially introduce the Association to expand the range of participants and strengthen coordination in the industry.
