Amber Galbin co-founder calls on communities to keep land in their ownership

Voting by the council subject to the use of land with amber

Recently, communities in the northern Rivne region have been actively discussing the possibility of leasing land to individuals for decades. Some people believe that such auctions will allow them to quickly fill local budgets.

However, the co-founder of the group of companies «Amber Galbin by Oleg Bogelsky convincedThis is not the best solution, especially when it comes to land with amber deposits.

“This is an incorrect, inappropriate, and unpromising disposal of land by local authorities. After such a lease, an entrepreneur will be forced to negotiate not with the authorities, but only with the tenant. The community will be left out and will not benefit - neither additional taxes nor support for social facilities. Only the land owner will benefit,” emphasized Oleg Bogelsky.

In his opinion, communities should retain ownership of land in order to cooperate directly with subsoil users, control the process and determine their own conditions.

“If companies want to mine amber, they have to take on specific obligations - to repair roads, help schools, and support healthcare. These should not be wishes, but contractual terms. If they are not fulfilled, the agreement should be terminated,” added Oleg Bogelsky.

This approach, he believes, will allow communities to develop strategically rather than in the short term, creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and ensuring a stable future for local residents.
